I'm Not Supposed To Be Alive
After that I demanded the reason for such violence but received no other answer than abuse. No one answered me but I overheard them saying something about ransom. Then it dawned on me. I was being held for ransom and so was my friend, Ben. I demanded what their intention was - to persist in such acts of violence but there was no reply. I tried telling them that I was worthless and that they would not get any money. The kidnappers got angry and went to the room to take Ben to another room. By then, I got nervous. The kidnappers around me had their bayonets fixed on us. I got terrified, as the blades were sharp. Then I made another effort to bring about a change, but with no success, but instead I was threatened with having my brains blown out to bits. Suddenly I heard screaming in the other room where they kept Ben. I got scared and was worried about Ben. Suddenly there was silence. The kidnappers came out without Ben. Nervously then, I asked them 'where on earth is Ben?' They replied 'Since you are worth nothing so we decided to kill Ben to see whether we can get a ransom for you.'
Right after he said those words, I was shocked and in fear of dying. To my utter dismay, I was held hostage for several days and we passed the night miserably wet and cold, as the days got rainy. One day, all the kidnappers were so worn out that they slept through the morning. I decided to make a break for it. While I was on the run, the kidnappers realized I had made my escape. Without wasting a moment and time, they quickly rushed out to find me.
By then I was already with the police and had already narrated to them my entire experience. So the kidnappers were caught red-handed. I did a brave act in trying to make my escape, without wanting to think of the consequences if I was caught, despite the fears and dangers. After this experience, I have learnt something really important that life is priceless and cherish my life more than ever before.

Aceh..
"Yes! I'm so stoked!" I screamed with excitement when my parents delivered the good news that my family and I were going to Aceh, Indonesia at the end of the year. I was told that Aceh has a beautiful beach. However, little did we know that our vacation was about to turn into nightmare.
We arrived at our destination by plane and by the time we checked into our hotel, it was nighttime. We went up to our room and retired in first class accommodations and comfort.
The night past rather quickly and everything was fine until next morning came. My brother and I asked our parents if we could swim in the sea. They looked at each other and agreed but it was to be a dreadful mistake.
When we arrived at the beach after breakfast, my mother was reluctant to allow my brother and I to swim, as she knew she would be taking a huge risk of losing her sons. My father was taking photographs with his camera, when he noticed a huge wave at least six meters in height was approaching one of the many islands near Aceh. The scene was horrifying. A fishing boat in the middle of the sea rocked viciously due to the strong waves and eventually it capsized. We were terrified.
Suddenly, the humongous wave rose five meters in height above our heads. My mother, without thinking desperately grabbed hold of my brother's hand and dragged him away from the wave with all her might. When we thought that the worst was over, we were wrong. A second wave appeared almost immediately after the first, almost as high or maybe higher, rose and slammed down on the sandy beach. Luckily for my family, the beach was located near a hill as we made a dash for high grounds, which saved our lives.
My parents were horrified and stood rooted to the ground after the onslaught of the giant waves, staring at the mess the tsunami did to the beach. Sadly, now the only memories that I have about Aceh are horrifying ones. The experience left me and my family terrified.
